The combat appears innovative at first, but it is actually heavily weighed upon by its unbelievable leniency which only serves to make battles a chore. But regardless, I could almost immediately tell the passion that went into this, and I loved it all the same.Ħ0% PCA unique adventure game packed with a fresh and deeply intriguing story that unfolds in a dystopian fantasy world which is meticulously detailed. The foundation was set, it just needed more combat depth and content, and perhaps a longer time in the oven in some of the other mentioned areas as well. Lost in Random has the soul of a modern classic. To be clear, the game isn't replayable, sure, but it didn't need to be. Some weirdly missable achievements were added in a game without a chapter select and clearly meant to be played through once. Some may find there to be too much dialogue, and granted there's a ton around every corner, but I actually quite enjoyed it - but to be clear, it would've been better to include more passive storytelling or worldbuilding and also more in-depth character involvement. Each area is a place to temporarily "live" in until the next, and that's one of the best ways to handle this kind of design. On that note though, each area was well-designed insofar as you stay in the area until you're finished, so it's impossible to accidentally miss side quests and such. Seriously great character and art design, and as another reviewer said, perhaps let down by uniformly drab townscapes. Great story, voice acting dialogue was mostly interesting and sometimes funny. The board game fights were fantastic and each one unique. There weren't many instances of arbitrary fights, but it occurred. Enemy variety began to suffer toward the end. I stopped using the card shop halfway through, and even then only half of the card selection was useful, if I'm being generous. I wish I could rate this higher, but it clearly suffers from a significant lack of cards. 80% PCHonestly fantastic, charming, very clear that passion went into this game.
